Open Roads

Happy Thursday Crafters!

Our adventure today takes us out on the open roads winding along the seaside. This layering stamp stamp set is all about the freedom of the open road, at least for me. I love coloring layering stamp sets! It's exciting to me to see the project come to life with each layer of color. Whether building a scene like this set or layering up an image like the hummingbird in one of my earlier blogs (LINK HERE), the creations are unique and beautiful.

Supplies and links are provided below. My links are not affiliate links, but where provided, they are links to my online store, Scrapsalot. Leave me a comment below, letting me know what you think of the cards for today.

Card #1

Card #2

Supplies:

  • The images are are stamped on Hammermill 100# Premium Color Copy Cover.
  • The background card stock is a woodgrain print from my stash.
  • The card base is Neenah 80#.
  • I always use my MISTI stamp platform when stamping cards. You will find the Original MISTI HERE and the Mini MISTI HERE.
  • The stamp set is Seaside Highway HeroScape Stamp Set from Hero Arts. (CM655)
  • Various inks were used as follows;
    • Ground
      • Light layer is Archival Wendi Vecchi Mini Ink Pad in Leaf Green.
      • Dark layer is Archival Distress Mini Ink Pad in Rustic Wilderness.
    • Water
      • Light layer is Archival Wendi Vecchi Mini Ink Pad in Forget-Me-Not.
      • Dark Layer is Archival Distress Mini Ink Pad in Prize Ribbon.
    • Road
      • Archival Wendi Vecchi Mini Ink Pad in Watering Can.
    • Car(s), Dolphins, Sentiment
    • Sky for Card #1
      • Blending Brushes were used to place a light layer of Archival Wendi Vecchi Ink in Forget-Me-Not.
    • Sky for Card #2
      • Blending Brushes were used with the Cloudy Stencil from Lawn Fawn starting with Archival Distress Mini Ink Pad in Speckled Egg. I decided that color was too dark and drab, so I quickly changed to the Archival Wendi Vecchi Mini Ink Pad in Forget-Me-Not to finish up the clouds.

These were easy to create and sometimes we just need a quick and easy card for a special occasion or just to get our crafty mojo going. Either way, I hope you enjoyed the cards for today and I hope this inspires you to pull out those layering stamps from your stash and give them a whirl.

Until next time, Keep it Crafty!
