Vintage Vibes

Hi Crafters!

Thanks for stopping in to check out my post! I missed an entire week of posting - I know, I know! Sometimes, life happens and we have to rearrange priorities and this past week was one of those times. Sunday before last, I was moving some bins around and I hurt my shoulder. By Monday, I was in so much pain I could hardly stand it. It hurt to move it in any direction. After a quick (haha) visit to the orthopedic ER, they confirmed I had a minor tear in my left rotator cuff. This is the absolute worst pain I have have ever experienced! #donotrecommend LOL

I was moving bins to prepare for a craft retreat where we set up with some products from Scrapsalot. The retreat started last week on Sunday and we arrived on Wednesday. I didn't have any posts ready ahead of time - sooooo lesson learned! I need to have some ready to go and scheduled to post so when life happens, I don't have to worry about not being able to post for at least a day or two.

I'm sharing one of the cards I was able to complete at the retreat. I stay pretty busy there helping fellow crafters/shoppers and conducting a Make n Take. I hope you enjoy this card! I was thrilled to be able to incorporate one of my wax seals. I just love those! Supplies are listed below the photo.

Supplies used:
  • The image is stamped on Bristol Smooth paper.
  • The green layer is 65# card stock from my stash.
  • The card base is Neenah 80#.
  • Vintage Daisy Collage background stamp from Technique Junkies. (Scrapsalot doesn't have this in stock currently, but Technique Junkies designs will be added soon!)
  • Colored with Copic Markers:
    • Daisy; Y11, Y13
    • Daisy Center; E25
    • Small Flowers; R30
    • Leaves/Stems; G40
    • Moth; E42, E97
    • Background; E40
  • I spattered the front of the card with Hero Arts Gold Paste, 4oz
  • White & gold twine from my stash.
  • Black was seal from my stash using a bumble bee wax stamp. I used flat glue dots to hold the sting in place on the front and the wax seal on top.
I kept the coloring very simple since I wanted a faded vintage vibe for this card. I didn't use a sentiment on the front, so I can use this card in many ways. The link provided is to my online store, Scrapsalot. Other products may be found online.

Again, I thank you for stopping by and I hope you're having a craft-filled week!

Keep it Crafty!

  4. I hope you're feeling better now. I had a rotator cuff injury last year and I had to go to physical therapy after it healed. I couldn't lift my arm above my head..I sympathize with you. Your card is gorgeous, the image is stunning. Thanks for joining the Beautiful Blossoms Challenge. We look forward to seeing more from you soon.

    1. Thanks so much, Donna! Then you understand that pain is like no other! I've never felt anything like that before. Although, it is much better now and I too will have a few sessions of PT to make sure I have full range of motion. Luckily, no surgery is needed - whew! It was my pleasure to participate in the challenge at Beautiful Blossoms and I hope to participate again soon! Thanks again - for your comments, and for stopping in. xx
